Meet Bill Brown
BILL BROWN, JR.
Though my career for fifty-two years was in business, I've always been interested in the arts. Graduating from BYU in Theater and Media Arts, I founded and operated Springville's Villa Playhouse Theatre and the Little Brown Theater on Main Street for ten years. Though a serious heart attack forced me to sell and close both theaters in 2005, the desire to participate in the arts was as strong as ever.
I have always loved the creative process, even in my real estate career, whether designing a residential subdivision, or a new commercial building. One of the greatest challenges I faced was to help restore the gallery when a fire gutted it in 2017. A gas heater in the middle apartment upstairs exploded from an electrical problem. But we did not let it dampen our love for the arts.
Renewing our efforts, we have rebuilt this fragile antique building into something more beautiful. Through showcasing and selling our paintings, we have won awards— at the Staircase Gallery of Zions Bank, and other venues. I love to explore imaginative ideas, bright colors, and abstract dimensions in my space scapes. The colorful vistas that Utah offers are awe-inspiring to an artist. I love to paint the red rock country. With my "painting" eyes I view the world around me with a new vision.
